The ERA-Net Bioenergy recently published its 12^th Call for Proposals on the topic of “Biomass as an important pillar within energy systems and the circular economy”.
This call aims to jointly fund innovative, transnational research, development and innovation projects in the field of bioenergy which contribute to a safe, environmentally friendly, reliable and economical energy supply, e.g. by:

• Identification and development of novel technologies and systems for bioenergy exploitation and  use  with  the  aim  to  further  improve  efficiency,  total  emissions  and  GHGbalances  in electricity, heat and transport fuel application
• Optimising the integration of bioenergy in regional or transregional energyinfrastructure-systems (heat, electricity, mobility) with increasing amounts of variable (renewable) energy production in order to improve system stability, flexibility and energy efficiency.

Germany will contribute 2 Mio. Euros to the total amount of funding available. The maximum amount of funding for German partners will be 500.000 Euros each.

Deadline for the submission of pre-proposals is 16 January 2018, 1:00pm (CET).
