PRIMA (Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area): First Call published
The Partnership for Research and Innovation in the Mediterranean Area (PRIMA), an
Initiative launched by 19 Euro-Mediterranean Countries, published its first Call. The goal of the PRIMA Initiative is the development of innovative solutions for efficient and sustainable water and food supply in the Mediterranean Area. Three thematic areas are identified in this framework:
- Integrated and sustainable management of water for arid and semi-arid Mediterranean areas,
- Sustainable farming systems under Mediterranean environmental constraints,
- Sustainable Mediterranean agro-food value chain for regional and local development.
The participating countries agreed to follow a long-lasting Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda. Based on the priorities described in this agenda, annual work plans will be developed and annual calls will be launched. The 2018 Annual Work Planwas recently published.
There will be a two-stage procedure for the submission of applications to this PRIMA call. Pre-proposals in Section 1 must be submitted by 17 April 2018, in Section 2 by 27 March 2018. Successful proposals will be invited to submit a full proposal by 15 September 2018 (Section 1) and 04 September 2018 (Section 2).
The Federal Ministry of Education and Research has appointed the following institution to be in charge of the management of the organizational aspects of the funding measure:
