SESAR: Call for Proposals "Single European Sky Air Traffic Management Research"
In 2004, the European Union decided to create a single European sky to better cope with the significant increase in air traffic in the coming years and decades. The operational side of this aviation management initiative is being implemented by the Joint Undertaking (JU) "Single European Sky Air Traffic Management Research" (SESAR). The European Commission, EUROCONTROL and industrial partners are members of this private-public partnership. The EU framework program for research and innovation, Horizon 2020, is funding around 600 million euros in the period 2014-2020.
SESAR JU has published its new call for proposals. The following topics were opened:
1.) Call for Proposals
- Optimized use of Airspace SESAR-VLD2-01-2020
- Integrated Trajectory Management SESAR-VLD2-02-2020
- U-space capabilities and services to enable Urban Air Mobility SESAR-VLD2-03-2020
- Environmental sustainability SESAR-VLD2-04-2020
2.) Call for Proposals
- Virtual Center SESAR-WAVE3-01-2020
- Increased flexibility in the allocation of ATCO resources SESAR-WAVE3-02-2020
- Collaborative U-space-ATM interface SESAR-WAVE3-03-2020
- Enhanced automated air / ground synchronization SESAR-WAVE3-04-2020
- Collaborative management of TMA & Airport throughput SESAR-WAVE3-05-2020
- Integrated Runway Throughput and Terminal Efficiency SESAR-WAVE3-06-2020
- Downlinking Flight Trajectory to improve ATM performance SESAR-WAVE3-07-2020
All topics have one-step application procedures. The submission deadline for all topics ends on June 16, 2020.
