FAIRe Forschungsdatenpublikation mit dem multidisziplinären Repositorium Zenodo – Ein Workshop (in German)
Registration see below
With open science becoming a standard practice in research, university and research libraries are increasingly tasked with providing services to support the FAIR publication of research data. Many German and European research grants require a mandatory strategy for publishing research data in their application forms. The sustainable provision of research data can be ensured by research data repositories.
The workshop provides an opportunity to learn about the functionality of the reputable, open repository Zenodo, developed under the European OpenAIRE program and operated by CERN. During a hands-on session, participants will input a provided dataset into the Zenodo Sandbox, with the chance to ask questions and discuss their experiences.
While long-term accessibility is ensured by the mere use of a trustworthy repository, descriptive metadata is crucial for the findability of research data. Reusability increases with comprehensive documentation and meaningful context information for any dataset. In addition to an introduction to core RDM principles and the reasons and benefits of publishing research data, there will be interactive elements to further awareness of the importance of metadata and good documentation practices.
Please register a Zenodo Sandbox account at least one day in advance, as there is usually a delay in receiving the registration confirmation email after sign-up. It isn’t possible to participate in the hands-on elements of the workshop without a Zenodo sandbox account.
