Each year, the Humboldt Foundation awards around 20 Friedrich Wilhelm Bessel Research Awards to internationally recognized researchers living and working outside of Germany as part of a prize sponsored by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. The prize honors the outstanding achievements of these promising researchers.
