Services
The Patent Information Centre offers researchers, companies and inventors a comprehensive range of services in the sphere of commercial property rights.
Here you will find our flyer.
Intellectual property rights searches should be an integral part of the research process. By comparing in-house research and developmental work with international developments, we can systematically plan new inventions and build up portfolios of patents.
Users can perform their own searches at database stations in the search room with the support of search experts. Commercial databases with international holdings can be searched for all kinds of intellectual property rights. We provide support to all users with their search planning and assist them throughout the entire search process.
As an alternative to searches in the Search room, searches can also be carried out via remote access. Our users then see a window on their own PC with the IP database on a PC of the PIZ and can thus also be supported during the entire search.
You may also submit requests (order form) for specific searches or monitoring to the PIZ. Proposals with chronologically and regionally staggered search coverage will then be compiled. These searches are performed by experienced search experts with various technical qualifications and expertise in a variety of technical disciplines. Ultimately, you will receive a detailed search report with relevant documents grouped and annotated according to relevance.
The SLUB’s (Saxon State and University Library) Knowledge Bar can also provide users with an overview and introduction to the full range of intellectual property rights databases. Our experienced search experts are readily available to help. There are no fees. Specific advisory consultations covering an issue of your choice can be easily booked.
An important component of the services offered is the organisation and implementation of professional training sessions. Topics include an introduction to intellectual property rights, search principles and techniques, search strategies and use of intellectual property rights databases.
PIZ Dresden secures the priority of all intellectual property rights applications by acting as a receiving office for German, European and international patent applications, German utility model applications, incl. applications for diversion, and German trademark and design applications.
