Earth Science Slam | Register by February 6
Registration for the Earth Science Slam
From March 4 to 26, 2023, a 7-meter globe will hang inside Dresden’s famous Frauenkirche. The installation will be covered with high-resolution images from NASA and illuminated from the inside, offering a view of our planet that astronauts have repeatedly described as a profound experience since the early days of space travel.
Profiting from this special atmosphere, the “Earth Science Slam” of the Technische Sammlungen Dresden and the Frauenkirche Dresden Foundation will take place on March 11, 2023. Researchers are invited to apply for the slam by February 6 via the Technische Sammlungen: .
Postdocs, post-graduates, and Master's students who want to make an impact on climate, environmental, and sustainability issues in popular science communication are invited. The goal is to present their research area in an entertaining way in 10 minutes or less.
The moderation will be in the hands of Simon Hauser, a successful science communicator throughout Germany who has facilitated several science slams in Dresden. He will also give the participants coaching in advance, and there will be a small prize for the winners.
Please spread the word to anyone else that could be interested in the topic.
