Academic posters are a major component at scientific conventions or conferences. They are used to highlight and present research results in an effective, visual manner - but what appearance do they usually take on: Densely packed with a high word-count and therefore looking like scientific articles simply displayed on a large format. This workshop shows you - illustrated with many vivid and demonstrative examples - the most important steps to reach a good poster layout, which is able to attract the attention of your target audience. You will get knowledge about formatting text, preparing images and graphs and very important - the know-how about spatial organization on the huge A1/A0 paper dimension, e.g. by using grids and columns. These basic rules of design will help you to present your research topic visually well organized, attractive and eye-catching. Together with an efficient pre-structuring of the research work to the most relevant items, you learn how to create your own poster in the amply provided practice time. Although Adobe Indesign would be the best choice for professional layouting, we will use PowerPoint as the general software. |
With your registration you are required to accept the terms and conditions for participation. |
