You are a postdoc looking to network internationally and learn how to make your research visible?

Then the EUTOPIA Impact School 2026 is the perfect event for you!

The Graduate Academy and the Postdoc Center are inviting 30 young researchers from the ten EUTOPIA universities to take part in an exclusive training and networking event. You will receive a varied training programme on the topic of science communication.

September 14 to 18, 2026
Evangelische Bildungsstätte Schwanenwerder (near Berlin)

In the inspiring surroundings of the historic conference villa, surrounded by a listed park, you will have the opportunity to work on your own scientific texts and practice presentation techniques. Together with international scientists from various disciplines you will learn how to make your research visible and effective beyond your specialist community.

Target group

The Impact School 2026 is aimed at postdocs from all departments. Three exclusive places are available for early career researchers of TU Dresden.

Program

Every day, participants can expect exciting training and input on the topic of science communication:

Under professional guidance, you will work purposefully on your scientific texts. You will learn and try out different storytelling and presentation techniques.
You will practice the necessary skills to present your research topic in a variety of academic and non-academic situations. This includes special interview and media training with professional trainers.
You will also have the opportunity to try out valuable rules for communicating with a broad audience and develop your solutions.
Finally, all participants create their pitch about their research project and present it to the group.
In addition to the training sessions, free writing time is planned for participants to work on their articles and publications. Please bring mobile devices (laptops or tablets) and the necessary materials and texts.

The event will be held in English.

Costs

Participation, accommodation and meals (full board) are free of charge for participants. Travel to and from the event is at your own expense.

Arrival is on Monday (Sep 14). The programme begins on Monday afternoon and ends on Friday at noon (Sep 18).
