EUTOPIA Impact School 2026
The fourth EUTOPIA Impact School took place from September 14 to 18, 2026, organized and facilitated by the Graduate Academy at TU Dresden.
This year, 30 early-career researchers from EUTOPIA partner universities came together at the Evangelische Bildungsstätte in Schwanenwerder near Berlin for an exclusive program on science communication.

From Research to Press Release
Under the professional guidance of science journalists Hannes Schlender and Dirk Hans from scienceRELATIONS, the participants drafted press releases about their respective research projects.
They also gained their first experience in front of the camera through interview and media training and deepened their skills through practical exercises.
Presenting Research
In an intensive pitch training session, the participants learned how to convey their research topics clearly and concisely, even to audiences beyond their academic community. This resulted in compelling pitches that were presented to the group on the final day of the event.
Exchange and Networking
The program was complemented by a variety of evening activities that provided opportunities for networking, exchange and collaborative work.
Biotechnologist and science slammer Lisa Budzinski shared her personal experiences in her inspiring keynote. A stimulating discussion followed about science communication and ways to make research accessible to a broad audience.
Feedback from the Impact School Participants
„I am very grateful to the organisers, speakers and trainers. I have learnt a lot and appreciate the opportunity to have worked with colleagues and international researchers.”
„Thank you for organizing this event! I have never had the chance to do a media training before and it was a fantastic experience!"
"The training took me out of my comfort zone, and I could gain a lot of new skills."
