Workshops on Demand | Internal Trainers
We offer the following workshops for doctoral candidates free of charge. The workshops are conducted by certified trainers from the Graduate Academy.

The successful implementation of this depends on the availability and capacity of the GA trainers. While we make every effort, we cannot always guarantee it within a specific timeframe.
The workshop introduces the basics of good scientific practice and allows the participants to familiarize themselves with questions regarding scientific integrity and its appropriate application in everyday research.
The participants will also have the opportunity to reflect on their roles and attitudes as scientists and discuss their own experiences.

Sooner or later, doing a doctorate always means writing a lot. How can you manage your writing process in such a way that high-quality academic texts are produced in the time available?
The workshop offers participants the opportunity to work intensively on their own academic writing and to gain a basic understanding of academic writing processes and strategies that can be applied to different types of texts (monographic dissertations, specialist articles, etc.).
The focus of the workshop can be set differently depending on the requirements:
- Orientation, planning, writing an exposé
- Structuring the material and creating an outline
- Writing raw texts
- Revising the text
Along the different phases of the writing process, the respective challenges of academic writing are discussed, and writing and revision strategies are tested on their text samples and reflected on in an exchange with each other.

The workshop offers participants the opportunity to familiarize themselves with time management strategies and methods so that they can integrate them into their day-to-day doctoral work right from the start.
The main topics are:
- the top-down and macro-micro planning approaches,
- formulating and evaluating goals, defining milestones and work packages,
- prioritizing tasks
- and finding a good way of dealing with interruptions and sources of disruption.

Everyday academic life poses many challenges: pressure to perform, a heavy workload, tight deadlines, dependencies, and uncertainties in career planning. Therefore, it is essential to strengthen your own resilience and learn a helpful way of dealing with stress to successfully and healthily master everyday life as a doctoral candidate.
In this workshop, participants reflect on their stress reaction patterns, deal with typical internal and external stressors during the doctorate, and learn various coping strategies.

A doctorate opens many doors - both in academia and in the private sector. The short workshop "Career Paths after the Doctorate" is explicitly aimed at first-year doctoral students.
Participants will receive information about the various career paths. The focus is on the different requirement profiles and expectations in academia and the private sector.
In addition, participants will receive practical tips on how to make the most of the doctoral period, make informed decisions about their future careers, and set the course for a successful career in academia or business at an early stage.
