A cooperation between the Nordic Embassies Berlin and the TUDiSC project "Disrupt!Research" moderated by Solvejg Nitzke
We are pleased to announce that in a cooperation between the Nordic Embassies Berlin and the TUDiSC project "Disrupt!Research", Solvejg Nitzke (Interim Professor of General and Comparative Literary Studies - Ruhr University Bochum) will moderate a discussion with the author Charlotte Weitze on her upcoming book Rosarium.
Event concept
What happens to our world when we follow the call to overcome the boundary between nature and culture? In which worlds and in which media can ecological coexistence succeed? Is the connection between plants and humans a reason to celebrate or does the strange kinship' undermine the integrity of both ways of life? Charlotte Weitze's novel “Rosarium” weaves these questions into a narrative that combines fairy tale and family novel, fantasy and realism, and treats them as ecological, political and social problems. The transformations at the heart of the text question identities and offer ways of knowing that are neither modern nor traditional, allowing us to discuss how we want to live with and as more-than-human beings.
