A week of democracy and dialog: A look back at the Diversity Days 2024
The Diversity Days took place again this year from November 4 to 8, 2024. Under the motto "Dialogue builds bridges - Together for diversity and democracy", workshops, cultural events and hands-on activities on the topics of democracy and diversity took place during this diverse week of events. People discussed and learned from each other.
The first highlight of the 15 events was the opening of the Diversity Days at the COSMO Science Forum. Under the title "Thinking Diversely", four input presentations offered an insight into the many different ways in which TU Dresden deals with topics and issues relating to democracy and democratic education - from a project in the Science Year 2024, to offers and formats of further and extracurricular youth and adult education, to children's rights.
Another highlight of the Diversity Days was the "Democracy Fitness Studio", which was open for one day in the Klemperersaal in cooperation with the SLUB and offered an interactive and creative approach to democratic self-reflection. Participants were able to engage in conversation in a variety of ways at interactive stations.
In light of the historical events on November 9, a historical tour through Mommsenstraße concluded the Diversity Days 2024. Scientists from the research project “Die TH Dresden im Nationalsozialismus” gave the participants interesting insights into the history of the Rectorate Building, the Alte Mensa and the Zebradiele as well as the Günther Landgraf Building. The tour led down to the basement of the Rectorate building and offered interesting insights into the history of TU Dresden.
