Is Europe blind in the social eye? A discussion on social justice in the EU
The EU is often associated exclusively with economic freedoms and hardly at all with social justice - although social policy provisions have been integrated into the EU treaties and social policy are significantly shaped by the rulings of the European Court of Justice. As part of the Maastricht event series "What Future for Europe? Conversations on 30 Years of the European Union", these four experts in international politics will discuss current reform proposals and prospects:
- Vladmir Spidla, former EU Commissioner for Employment, Social Affairs and Equal Opportunities and former Prime Minister of the Czech Republic
- Katharina Wolf, Chairwoman of the Europa-Union of Saxony
- Johannes Vogel, social politician, parliamentary director of the FDP parliamentary group in the Bundestag
- Susanne Hyldelund, Danish Ambassador
When? 14 June from 6:30 - 8 pm
Where? Dresden City Museum, Landhaus Wilsdruffer Str. 2
In cooperation with Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung Sachsen e.V. and Sächsische Landeszentrale für politische Bildung
