Munich – Bavarian charm meets international flair (PhD students and post-docs only)
Munich exudes Bavarian charm. The capital of Bavaria is probably best known for its annual Oktoberfest celebration – but it has much more to offer! During our excursion we will attempt to discover the diversity of Munich, which was almost completely destroyed in the two world wars and yet has managed to recreate much of its folkloric, Bavarian past. We will, of course, enjoy a guided city tour and get to know the main attractions of the inner city. In addition, we will visit the ‘German Museum’ – the biggest natural science-technical museum in the world. Art lovers will also get to indulge their passion at the famous art collection ‘New Pinakothek’. Another stop is the BMW City Munich, where we will visit the BMW World and museum. Besides our full schedule, you will of course get a chance to spend some time of your own in the city.
Date: Friday, 4 – Sunday, 6 September
Cost: €90
Meeting Point: Friday, 2.45 p.m. at the main station in the main hall
