Students in need – TU Dresden’s Friends and Supporters launch another fundraiser
The Society of Friends and Supporters of TU Dresden is starting a second fundraising campaign and is appealing for donations for the “Coronavirus Aid Fund for Students”. The first campaign was launched in spring during the first wave of the pandemic to quickly and unbureaucratically provide financial assistance to students in need. The maximum amount of support is 450 EUR.
The patron of the fundraising campaign is the Rector of TU Dresden, Prof. Ursula M. Staudinger: “We are currently witnessing a second wave of the Coronavirus pandemic. This poses great challenges for everyone as it is unlikely to abate anytime soon. Yet again, it is our students and early-career researchers who will particularly suffer the consequences, especially financially. Due to the resulting job cuts in hospitality and culture sectors, a lack of family-support services and quarantine restrictions for student parents, these groups are facing great uncertainties in the upcoming months. It is for this reason that I would like to once again appeal to the extraordinary Dresden Spirit and call upon you to participate in the fundraising campaign. We strive to provide as much financial aid as possible. Please donate generously and help our students and young researchers. Your personal donation supports us in our commitment to play a more active role in the community at large.”
