Workshop: Descriptive and inferential statistics for corpus data
Linguistics researchers have a large number of corpora at their disposal that represent various languages and their varieties, some of which are enriched with detailed metadata. Analyzing these data sets requires knowledge of their specific structure and appropriate statistical methodology. How do you describe corpus data? What is a statistical model? Which visualizations are suitable? Lukas Sönning (Otto-Friedrich-University Bamberg) will provide answers to these questions on May 16, 2025.
The workshop is divided into a lecture part and a subsequent Q&A and hands-on session and is aimed at students of all semesters and all employees.
