Working meeting of the Parents-School-Communication Network on 18.11.2021
Establishing comprehensible communication in parental work in language and culturally sensitive contexts in KiTas
How can an invitation letter be written in such a way that many parents accept the invitation? Are written letters still appropriate? How can KiTas communicate their actions as an offer for participation?
These questions were dealt with in the workshop of the Parents-School-Communication Network (ZfI and Department of Antidiscrimination, Migration and International Affairs of the GEW Saxony), which took place with the project of Intercultural Educational Landscapes (Kolibri e.V.) on 18 November 2021. The perspectives on language and communication in language- and culture-sensitive contexts were examined using concrete examples of material.
The participants highlighted "the practice-oriented tips, joint exercises and useful advice" as "overwhelming". It is important to contribute to the relief of all educators with their work. Numerous challenges of everyday pedagogical life could be described, existing questions about communication with families could be discussed in detail or clarified. In addition, the workshop provided a space for the exchange of "extremely useful tips" for practical implementation in the project and in the day care centres. After all, good communication with parents and family caregivers also benefits the children and this can be felt positively in the daily work.
