Appointment of Dr. Noa Ha to the State Advisory Council for Integration
In order to be able to accompany the future tasks of the Free State of Saxony in the area of integration in the long term, the State Advisory Council for Integration at the Equality and Integration Division of the Saxon State Ministry for Social Affairs and Consumer Protection (SMS) was constituted on 9 May 2019 under the chairmanship of the Integration Minister Petra Köpping. Among others, Dr. Noa K. Ha, head of the junior research group at the Centre for Integration Studies at the TU Dresden, Prof. Dr. Markus Tiedemann, professor for didactics of philosophy and for ethics at the TU Dresden, as well as Prof. Dr. Hans Vorländer, director of the Mercator Forum Migration and Democracy (MIDEM), were appointed to the advisory board.
Almost all federal states have now established advisory state integration councils. This is a strong signal from the state governments of the high importance of the cross-sectional task of integration. In addition to networking the actors, the task of the Saxon State Integration Advisory Council in the next two years is to advise the State Ministry responsible for integration on current and fundamental issues of integration, migration and social cohesion and to support the implementation of the Saxon Immigration and Integration Concept (ZIK II).
The state integration advisory council includes representatives of the state, the municipalities, integration research, non-statutory welfare organisations, trade unions, churches and religious communities, the business community and civil society. (Source: SMGI)
