The university group Kritisches Lehramt Dresden and the educational project Grenzen Überwinden of the Ausländerrat Dresden e.V. are organising a block seminar for students and interested parties on 22 and 23 November 2019 entitled Rassismus in der Schule begegnen - Was ist rassismuskritische Bildungsarbeit?.

How is racism embedded in our everyday life? How can I deal with it as a teacher? What does racism-critical educational work mean?

Now more than ever, racism is a central social phenomenon of devaluation that is continuously reproduced in our society, also in schools. The seminar will discuss the origins of this phenomenon and the options teachers can use to break this cycle.

The block seminar is aimed at students and interested parties. With reference to our series of events Inklusive Schule in der Migrationsgesellschaft - Handelnde Teilhabe für alle, aber wie? in the summer semester 2019, we recommend attendance for the various actors in educational work.
