Patrice Poutrus presents his new book in Dresden
Dr Patrice Poutrus from the University of Erfurt will present his recently published book “Umkämpftes Asyl. Vom Nachkriegsdeutschland bis in die Gegenwart” (“Contested Asylum. From Post-War Germany to Present“) on 27th June 2019 at 6:00pm in the Stadtmuseum Dresden in the café of the museum. The Hannah-Arendt-Institute invites on its website to the presentation of the book and to a talk with the author. In his book, Dr Patrice Poutrus classifies the development of the right of asylum since the post-war period in both German states until the present of the reunified Germany historically, and he especially looks at the constitutional change of 1993. He shows that conflicts about asylum and flight were and still are always accompanied by basic questions concerning the political and moral orientation of the German society.
You can already watch a presentation of the book, which the ARD aired on 19th Mai 2019 in ttt, on YouTube.
