Project description:
Although valuable insights have been generated with regard to the reasons for the underrepresentation of women in science and economy, our knowledge is still very limited with regard to the effect of practical measures for the advancement of women. Thus, a comprehensive overview of the development of women from school education to professions in STEM in Saxony has surfaced as a scientific desideratum.
To approach this field of research, not only are two universities (TUD, TUBAF) and two Hochschulen of applied sciences (Mittweida University of Applied Sciences, Zittau/Görlitz University of Applied Sciences) working together, but collaborations with numerous other organizations, including schools and vocational schools, companies and startups in the STEM sector, as well as mentoring and coaching networks are on the agenda.
The junior research group for this project is composed of graduates from various disciplines such as business, psychology, education and social sciences. The majority of whom have to offer previous experiences and knowledge resulting from collaborating in the projects predecessor, the junior research group GAP - Gender Proportions in University Projects (term: 2020-2022).
