33 Vocational training stakeholders at TU Dresden: knowledge circulation in dialog
On Thursday, 27.03.2025, 33 stakeholders in vocational education gathered in the Weberbau at TU Dresden to actively engage in dialog on topics relating to vocational education, social pedagogy, health and care as well as nutritional and household sciences. The format, initiated by the Chair of Vocational Education and the Chair of Social Pedagogy, is now organizationally supported by the Center for Teacher Education and Educational Research (ZLSB) and the Chair of Health and Nursing.
For the third time, the format provided a platform for interdisciplinary exchange, knowledge circulation and networking within the specialist community.
Lecture: The importance of vocational training
In an introductory lecture on the topic "It won't work without training", Prof. Dr. Sandra Bohlinger highlighted the importance and special role of vocational training in the German education system and in relation to social and international developments. Against the backdrop of the increasing pluralization of study and training opportunities, she pointed in particular to solutions for increasing the attractiveness of vocational training: Career orientation, marketing & image, new qualification targets, permeability and remuneration.
Workshops: Focus on practical research results
Afterwards, the participants were assigned to the various workshops held by students and researchers from TU Dresden, in which research results from state examination theses and dissertations were presented and discussed. The topics included aspects of the implementation of the situation principle in vocational secondary schools for health and social services, the importance of Ki-generated feedback on learning tasks and the design and evaluation of a crime game for trainees in the hotel and catering industry.
After a joint lunch break, the event continued with an intensive exchange on the following topics: Interactions in youth welfare, Shaping digital transformation in the professional field of nutrition and home economics together - a workshop on opportunities, challenges and solutions and Challenges of trainees from third countries in nursing training. The event was characterized by intensive professional exchange and the development of new impulses for the further development of professional teaching practice.
To be continued next year
A repeat of the event is also planned for next year. The aim is to continue to discuss current research findings with high practical relevance, to establish networks and to further strengthen cross-phase cooperation in teacher training.
If you would like to offer the format as an exchange format for student research and school practice in your department or subject group, please contact us.
