ProVEST & GeNeMe 2025 - International Future Discussions at the TUD
Having barely moved into its new faculty building at Münchner Straße 1, the Faculty of Education at TU Dresden has already made a name for itself as the host of several international scientific events. The focus was on future issues in vocational education and learning technologies.
As part of the renowned conference "GeNeMe 2025 - KI & MENSCHLICHKEIT: Technologie in sozialer Verantwortung", three exciting pre-conferences and the trans-European research meeting ProVEST took place on September 17:
- GameChangers: Innovation in Business Education and Management Training (Evangelische Hochschule Dresden, all day)
- ProVEST: Riding towards a sustainable future in VET education (Faculty building MS1, morning)
- Fostering Competence and Inclusion in VET through Digital Innovation (MS1 faculty building, afternoon)
The events were designed as open formats - freely accessible and organized in close cooperation with the Evangelische Hochschule Dresden.
The main conference GeNeMe 2025 followed on September 18 and 19. For over 25 years, this traditional series has brought together experts from computer science, data science, media technology, education, business and social sciences to discuss digital communities and innovative forms of collaboration. Further information can be found at www.geneme.de. The vocational didactic labs were a particular highlight: from the faculty's new learning labs to the newly opened 1000 m² augmented reality nursing lab in the atrium at the EHS rose garden. They gave all participants impressive insights into future-oriented learning environments.
The ProVEST project team also looks back with gratitude on the inspiring atmosphere, the many valuable impulses and the great support from the three German project partners - the Bildungszentrum Lernen + Technik, TUDFaCE and TU Dresden. On the way to a sustainable future in VET, the project has been researching the professionalization of VET teachers to create capabilities, transformative learning environments for sustainable change since the beginning of 2025 - and met for the 2nd time at TUD with git 50 guests from 5 European countries and Indonesia. Further information can be found at https://provest-cove.eu. Finally, a brief outlook: The Dresden team is planning to publish initial results and experiences in a practical article in the eLearning Handbook for HR/VET practitioners. At the same time, a joint press release is currently being prepared via the EUTOPIA office.
