Structurally, the Institute for Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics comprises
the scientific subjects associated with this in the form of professorships and independent
teaching units in the professional field of construction technology, educational
technology / media didactics, the didactics of vocational learning, the vocational field
of electrical engineering and information technology, adult education and vocational
training, the professional specialization in color technology, interior design and surface
technology, the professional specialization in health and care, the professional
specialist in wood technology, the professional specialist in laboratory and process
technology, the professional specialist in food, nutrition and home economics, the
professional specialist in metal and mechanical engineering, the professional
Specialization in social pedagogy and systematic and historical vocational pedagogy.
The institute serves teaching and research as well as further education in the
above-mentioned fields. The institute also performs regional, national and international
transfer and advisory tasks. Further tasks result from academic self-administration at the
Technical University of Dresden.
