2nd state competition WTH 2016

On 07.04.2016 we held the 2nd state competition WTH. The best 15 students in the subject WTH/S, who achieved 1st to 3rd place in the 5 regional competitions, met at the TUD Dresden University of Technology to compete. Now it was time to determine the best WTH students in the state competition. The challenge of this year's competition was to produce a functional table lamp. It had to be designed and manufactured using materials provided, such as egg cartons, jars or yoghurt pots (upcycling). The tasks developed by students of the secondary school teaching program WTH included a design sketch, the production plan, a cost calculation of the materials and standard parts used as well as process- and product-oriented evaluation criteria for the jurors. After completing the preparatory tasks, the students were able to tackle the production of the table lamp. All the students worked enthusiastically on their product and impressed with their specialist knowledge, craftsmanship and creativity. Following production, all the pupils presented their table lamps to a jury. Many different and impressive table lamps were created, which is why it was not easy to determine a winner. The students exceeded our expectations by far.
