Third state competition of the subject Economy-Technology-Household/Social Affairs took place at the TUD.
On April 6, 2017, the third state competition for the subject of economics, technology, household and social affairs took place at TU Dresden.
The top three students from each of the regional competitions in Bautzen, Dresden, the Saxon Switzerland/Eastern Ore Mountains district, Chemnitz and Zwickau qualified.
The task developed by students in the WTH teaching degree program consisted of designing and manufacturing a multifunctional strip with shelves for pens and notepads, a pin board, key hooks and a light source for the household. Particular attention was paid to the technological planning, the manufacturing process, the cost calculation of the materials used and the presentation of the product.
First place went to Jonathan von Alberti (Dresden-Weixdorf secondary school), second place to Arthur Dierigen (Dresden-Weißig secondary school) and third place to Toni Viehweger (Dr. Theodor Neubauer secondary school, Kirchberg).
All participants demonstrated a high level of technical knowledge and ability in the fields of business, technology and household/social affairs. The attending representatives from industry and the skilled trades, head teachers, subject teachers and WTH advisors were impressed by the capabilities of the secondary school students and the promotion of young professionals in Saxony.
The state competition was sponsored and supported by the Saxon State Ministry of Culture, TU Dresden, Institute of Vocational Education and Vocational Didactics, HWK Dresden, IHK Dresden, Landesverband Sächsischer Jugendbildungswerke e. V. and the Landesarbeitsgemeinschaft Schule - Wirtschaft.
