Research Areas
The chair’s research interest covers various individual projects focusing on (prospective) teachers and their developing skills, following the concept of lifelong learning. Thus, we on the one hand work on revising the discourse of teacher training and the teaching profession by means of different accesses. On the other hand, we attend to school as a space of action, and have a close look on junction and cooperation between subjects. The chair also examines instruction, its planning and quality attributes. Thereby, the research areas are as manifold as the utilization of different research methods.
The staff of the Chair of General Didactics and Instructional Research especially focuses on the following research priorities and activities:
- Empirical research in the field of teacher training and the teaching profession
- Educational research on the topic of space
- Learning through subject interlinking (Fächerverbindender Unterricht)
- (International) culture of cooperation
- Research on “profession” and “professionalizing” in the context of the teaching profession
- Structuring and quality of school instruction
