Courses at LuFo
LuFo offers a wide range of opportunities for practical, active, and workshop-oriented university teaching. Flexible spaces, a variety of materials, and technical equipment support teaching and learning formats in which students can take an active role, explore different approaches, and develop and reflect on their own ideas.
The spaces are available for courses offered by the four Chairs participating in LuFo.
Shaping Teaching
The LuFo’s spaces and materials can be integrated into university teaching in various ways:
- Workshop-oriented work— Flexible spaces support active, collaborative, and open teaching and learning formats.
- Testing Materials & Methods —Materials from elementary school education, German, mathematics, and general studies can be explored, tested in practice, and reflected upon collaboratively.
- Developing & designing ideas —Students can develop, test, and refine their own learning activities, assignments, and materials.
- Combining theory and practice —subject-specific and pedagogical questions can be addressed in a practical way and linked to real-world experiences from school settings.
Learning Together with Children
The LuFo offers opportunities to directly
. As part of their courses, students can develop their own learning activities and materials and test them together with children.
Collaboration with schools and the organization of visits are handled by the respective instructors. Our student assistants are happy to help prepare the classrooms and materials.
Observing & Reflecting on Teaching and Learning Processes
The LuFo rooms are equipped with cameras and microphones, enabling the video recording of teaching and learning situations.
Video recording opens up additional opportunities to observe interactions and learning processes, analyze them collectively, and reflect on pedagogical and didactic decisions.
In this way, video technology expands the possibilities for research-oriented and reflective higher education teaching at LuFo.
The video technology is currently being set up. Information on usage and technical training will be added shortly.

Room Availability and Reservations
The LuFo rooms are available for courses offered by the four participating Chairs. You can check the current schedule on our LuFo calendar.
Regular Courses
The scheduling for regularly scheduled courses is coordinated centrally on a semester-by-semester basis.
Before scheduling begins, a needs assessment is conducted with the individuals responsible for course planning at the participating Chairs. Based on this, the schedule for the respective semester is created.

Individual Courses
After the regular enrollment planning process is complete, requests for available time slots for block seminars, tutorials, and other individual courses may still be submitted.
Please first check the current room availability in the LuFo calendar. Please direct requests to book LuFo facilities via email to our Student Assistant, Julia Seifert.
When submitting your request, please include , if possible, the date, time frame, desired room, course format, and estimated number of participants.
