Our Resources
At LuFo, you’ll find a wide variety of resources on elementary school education, German, math, and general studies. Specialized literature, children’s books, and teaching materials invite you to discover new things, try out resources for your studies and teaching, or find inspiration for your own projects.
What’s there to discover?
Our collection includes, among other things:
- Specialized literature & journals —for academic study, research, and lesson planning
- Children’s Books & Nonfiction – for exploration, comparison, and use in elementary school
- Educational games & teaching materials – for exploring and trying out different learning approaches
- Research kits & theme kits – curated sets of materials for hands-on exploration of selected topics
- Experiment kits & models – for investigating, illustrating, and exploring scientific and technical phenomena and relationships
Materials by Subject Area
Our materials are organized into four subject areas: elementary school education, German, mathematics, and general studies. Material lists provide an overview of the available resources in each area.

Academic Journals
You’ll find various academic journals in the LuFo. Current and back issues can be read on-site during open workshop hours and used for study, research, and lesson planning.

Discover, try out, and get advice
All materials can be used and tested on-site during our opening hours.
Are you looking for materials on a specific topic, for a seminar assignment, or for your own lesson idea? Our student staff will be happy to assist you during opening hours with navigating the collection and finding materials in a targeted manner.
Borrowing Materials
Most of our materials are available for checkout. Checkout and return take place during workshop hours through our student staff.
Different borrowing conditions currently apply to the individual departments:
- Elementary School Education: only with lecturer approval*, use restricted to the building for presentations and exams, return no later than one day after borrowing
- German: only with lecturer approval*, use restricted to the building for presentations and exams, must be returned no later than one day after borrowing
- Mathematics: Materials may be borrowed for 14 days; books may be borrowed for 7 days
- Social Studies: Only with lecturer approval*, use restricted to the building for presentations and exams, must be returned no later than three days after borrowing
- Journals generally cannot be checked out. Articles can be scanned on site. Please bring a USB flash drive for this purpose.
*What is a lecturer’s permission? A brief written confirmation from the respective lecturer, usually via email to the responsible LuFo-SHK (with the student in cc), including the student’s name, the name of the material, and the return date.
You do not need a SLUB library card to borrow items.
