Chair of School Education / Institutional School Research

The Chair is dedicated to teaching and researching school pedagogical topics in the field of tension between theory and practice. Our current empirical research focuses on dealing with heterogeneity, the relationship between home and school, the investigation of processes of teaching and learning in schools, and activities in teaching and learning laboratories.

Our teaching is structured in modules that focus on the teaching and reflection of theories and concepts of school education.

The Chair comprises the Educational Teaching and Research Laboratory (ELF), which offers students enrolled in teacher training a variety of activities alongside their studies. These include competence training courses, peer counselling, a student tutor programme, and a research laboratory.
