Writing state examination theses at the Chair of School Education: School Research

Students on teacher training courses have the opportunity to write their state examination thesis (STEX) in the field of educational science at our Chair.

Thematic focus

In principle, we are open to a wide range of school pedagogical issues. We prefer empirically oriented work, especially qualitative designs. We particularly welcome work on the following topics:

• Implementation of educational policy guidelines
• Discrimination in the education system, e.g. ableism, racism, sexism, classism, lookism, adultism, etc.
• Constructions of difference
• School development (e.g. child protection concepts, climate protection in schools)
• Professionalization research, e.g. from a discrimination-critical perspective
• Pedagogical relationships between violence and recognition
• Migration and refugee research
