As part of your teacher training studies for the higher teaching profession at vocational schools, you can opt for cooperative training in technical teaching (KAtLA) and acquire a vocational qualification in addition to your teacher training studies.

Interested? Then you should make an advising appointment with the KAtLA coordinator during the first two semesters ().

As a rule, you will then transfer to a company for twelve months after the end of exams in the fourth semester in order to learn the practical skills of an occupation in your professional field. At the end or after completion of your internship, you can take an external examination before the IHK (Chamber of Industry and Commerce) or the Chamber of Crafts and obtain a skilled worker's certificate.
