KAtLA - cooperative education in the technical teaching profession
KAtLA is a study model for students of vocational specializations without prior relevant vocational training. KAtLA offers the possibility of acquiring a vocational qualification within the framework of a 12-month internship (compulsory internship according to LAPO I). In this case, the standard period of study is extended by 2 semesters.
The project
As part of the KAtLA project, industrial-technical majors have the opportunity to complete a 12-month internship within the extended teacher training program, culminating in a Chamber of Industry and Commerce professional qualification. The standard period of study for the teaching degree is increased by two semesters to 12 semesters.
For a job as a teacher at a vocational school, it is very advantageous to have gained experience as a trainee or apprentice or at least in practical activities in a subject area. Therefore, this is also a prerequisite for the first state examination.
Therefore, KAtLA is especially interesting for students in the study program teaching at vocational schools without vocational training or with only little practical work experience.
