Teacher training course after Bachelor's degree in Engineering Education
After completing a Bachelor's degree in Engineering Education at one of the universities of applied sciences (HAW) participating in the OptLA project, graduates have the opportunity to enter directly into a higher semester of the degree program Teacher Training - Vocational Schools at TU Dresden. Thanks to the cooperation between TU Dresden and the OptLA-HAW, the range of courses offered is coordinated in such a way that a large part of the course credits are recognized if the same fields of study are choosen and the degree program can be taken up at TU Dresden in the 6th or 7th semester. The teacher training course concludes with the First State Examination. This degree entitles you to enter the preparatory service at a state vocational school.
Support when starting the teacher training program
There are a number of challenges when starting a teacher training course, which we support students with. These are in particular
- Welcome and information event at the start of studies
- Assistance with the recognition of previous academic achievements
- Support with the preparation of study plans
- Dedicated contact persons for all questions regarding your studies
Professional internship
Proof of a professional internship is required for registration for the state examination, if no professional training has been successfully completed in one of the chosen fields of study. The internship has a duration of 12 months, whereby there are various crediting options according to the Teacher Examination Regulations I. Before starting the teacher training course, you should check whether the professional internship can be completed in time.
Study funding
Unfortunately, the BAföG regulations do not currently provide any funding for this combination of studies. However, there are alternatives for financing your studies.
