TechLA+ - Teacher training course with vocational qualification
TechLA+ (formerly KAtLA) is of interest to students on the "Teacher Training - Vocational Schools" degree program without vocational training or with little practical work experience. TechLA+ offers the opportunity to complete a twelve-month vocational internship in certain commercial-technical subjects as part of the teacher training course and to acquire a vocational qualification.
According to LAPO I, vocational training or a one-year internship is a prerequisite for registering for the first state examination at the end of the Teacher Training - Vocational Schools degree course. The background to this is that it is very advantageous for a job as a teacher at a vocational school if you have gained experience as a trainee or in practical activities in a department.
For selected commercial-technical subjects in the degree program "Teacher Training - Vocational Schools", a work placement can be completed in these companies during the course of study with the support of regional companies. This internship prepares students for the practical part of the final examination of vocational training (external examination IHK or HWK). Together with a theoretical examination, a vocational qualification can be obtained at the end of the internship. The internship automatically extends the standard period of study by two semesters.
The following vocational subjects and qualifications are currently offered:
- Construction technology
+ vocational qualification in bricklaying, concrete / reinforced concrete construction - Metal and machine technology
+ vocational qualification as a metal technology specialist - Electrical engineering/information technology
+ vocational qualification as an industrial electrician
It is recommended that you start your internship in the fifth semester. Prospective students should arrange a consultation appointment with the TechLA+ contact persons during the first two semesters.
