Research Methods, Covid Measures and Demographics – Current Publications on the University School Dresden Pilot Project
Anke Langner, Maxi Heß, Marlis Pesch and Matthias Ritter highlight various aspects of the University School Dresden pilot project in 3 current publications. These publications, which can be found in the educators’ professional development magazine PraxisForschungLehrer*innenBildung – Zeitschrift für Schul- und Professionsentwicklung (Vol. 2 No. 1 (2020) – Issue 2), primarily showcase the underlying research methods employed in the living lab that is the University School Dresden. In spring 2020, a set of measures was put in place to enable collaborative learning despite social distancing. Another article elucidates the evaluation of this model test, which concluded that the measures introduced during the Covid-19 pandemic corroborate the core concept of the University School Dresden pilot project.
The University School undertakes to adequately and accurately represent the population of the City of Dresden in its student body. The publications explore the composition of the student body with regard to age and grade distribution, gender, the pupils’ parents’ educational or vocational training qualifications and pupils’ native languages. Browse through our overview of publications on the University School Dresden research project to see how successful we were in achieving this goal during the 2019/20 school year. You can access the detailed concept of the University School Dresden.
The Dresden University School is a joint project of the City of Dresden and the Technische Universität Dresden. It is a public and free community school run by the city, where innovative forms of teaching and learning are tested under scientific supervision. In addition, it is a training school for future teachers and, in the future, a further education school for teachers. The school trial is being scientifically supported by the ForUS research center at TU Dresden.
