Festive event on 14th of October 2025 to mark the start of the project: St. Mary's at Helfta. A monastery in the networks of its time (13th to 16th century)
At the start of the new project St Mary at Helfta. A Monastery in the Networks of its Time (13th to 16th century), a festive event will be held in the Kaiser-Otto-Saal of the Kulturhistorisches Museum Magdeburg.
Greetings will be given by Prof. Dr. Armin Willingmann, Minister for Science, Energy, Climate Protection and the Environment of Saxony-Anhalt; Dr. Andreas Handschuh, Head of the Saxon State Chancellery and State Secretary for Federal and European Affairs and the President of the Saxon Academy of Sciences in Leipzig, Prof. Dr. Hans-Joachim Knölker. Museum Director Dr. Gabriele Köster will welcome the guests and Prof. Dr. Mirko Breitenstein will introduce the project before Prof. Dr. Simone Schultz-Balluff 's subsequent keynote speech.
