Announcement: New Projekt: Holy Monk-Bishops

This project will investigate hagiographic vitae of Benedictine, Carthusian and Cistercian bishops written in the High Middle Ages; it aims to find out which models these three monastic branches developed for the combination of monasticism and episcopacy and how they defined their role within the institutional church.
