Courses Summer term 2023
In the summer semester 2023, numerous courses will again be offered by members of FOVOG.
Three courses (the lecture series "Von bierbrauenden Mönchen und kriegerischen Nonnen – Klöster und Klerus in analogen und digitalen Spielen" [Monasteries in Modern Media Part 1], the tutorial "Klöster im Kino" with an associated film series, and the didactics seminar/ tutorial "Monasteries in Comics & (Board)Games") will focus on (church) historical cultures and modern ideas of monasteries.
The course "Iberian Peninsula in the High Middle Ages: Transcultural Perspective", which will be held in English, will focus on an overview of the socio-political and cultural situation of the Iberian Peninsula between the 9th and 12th centuries.
In the course "Der Ostseeraum im Mittelalter", paradigmatically selected sources from the early, high and late Middle Ages will be read and thus a cultural-historical insight into the Baltic Sea region as an area of nature, life, trade and piety will be given.
The course "Schreibwerkstatt Mittelalter: Heiligkeit (er)fassen. Studierende als Autoren" enables students to write articles to an index of all members of the Cistercian communities who are venerated as saints, based on their own research and to publish them.
