Januar 2022 hier anmelden.
Hier geht's zum Tagungsprogramm!

University of Colombo, visiting the Chair of English Literature.
Since April 19, 2022, Dr. Wijewardene, an internationally renowned scholar of literature, media, and culture, has been at the professorship of Prof. Dr. Stefan Horlacher to initiate cross-faculty joint research projects in the fields of Queer Studies and Postcolonial Studies as well as to explore the possibilities of cooperation in the area of the new study program on Digital Humanities. Her stay at the TU Dresden is based on the partnership between the Chair of English Literature and the English Department of the University of Colombo, funded by an ISAP/DAAD program, as well as the successful cooperation during the international conference "The Art of New Alternatives: Nation-Building and the Creation of a 'New Community' in Contemporary Sri Lankan Art", which took place at the TU Dresden from March 9-11. Dr Wijewardene, who studied at the University of Delhi, Oxford University and Monash University (Australia), is primarily interested in queer studies, feminism and human rights in her research, working across media and including legal aspects. If you want to learn more, be sure to come to her lecture "The Body and its Machinations," in which she will explore non-normative heterosexuality on April 26, 16:40-18:10, Wiener Strasse 48, Room 002.
