International partnerships of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences
The School of Humanities and Social Sciences maintains a large number of international partnerships with universities worldwide. Below you will find an overview of existing partnerships and cooperations. The cities of Wrocław (Breslau) in Poland and Dresden have been twin cities since 1956, and the first university agreement between TU Dresden and the University of Wrocław was concluded in 1997. The strategic partnership between the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the University of Wrocław has existed since 2014 and has been continuously expanded ever since.
With around 32,000 students and ten faculties (four of which are in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences), the University of Wrocław is the third largest university in Poland. The "Willy Brandt Center for German and European Studies" was founded in 2002 and is jointly funded by the University of Wrocław and the DAAD.

Students
- Students at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences have the opportunity to study at the University of Wrocław for one or two semesters as part of the Erasmus program.
Research and teaching staff
- Lecturers can develop individual collaborations in the field of teaching with the University of Wrocław within the framework of study visits.
- Early-career researchers have the opportunity to carry out research stays at the University of Wrocław.
Close contacts have existed between the Università degli Studi di Trento and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences since the 1990s. At the heart of the partnership is the double Master's program between the Faculty of Linguistics, Literature and Cultural Studies at TU Dresden and the Dipartimento di Lettere e Filosofia at the Università degli Studi di Trento.
The Università degli Studi di Trento has around 16,000 students and around 1,200 lecturers who teach and learn at ten faculties (four of which are in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences). Together with the Universities of Innsbruck and Bolzano, the university is part of the binational university network in the Tyrol - South Tyrol - Trentino Euroregion. Other institutions associated with the university include the Fondazione Bruno Kessler, the Castello del Buonconsiglio, the Museo di Arte Moderna e Contemporanea di Trento e Rovereto (MART), the Museo delle Scienze (MUSE) and the Fondazione Edmund Mach.

Students
- Students at the Faculty of SLK have the opportunity to participate in the double Master's program. As part of the bilateral Master's program, they attend courses at both universities and obtain a German and an Italian degree.
- Students at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences have the opportunity to study at the Università degli Studi di Trento for one or two semesters as part of the Erasmus program.
Research and teaching staff
- Lecturers can develop individual collaborations in the field of teaching with the Università degli Studi di Trento within the framework of study visits.
- Early-career researchers have the opportunity to carry out research stays at the Università degli Studi di Trento.
- As part of a cotutelle procedure, doctoral students have the opportunity to take part in a joint doctoral program.
Founded in 1982, the Università degli Studi di Verona has around 25,000 students and 1,500 employees. The city in northern Italy has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2000 and is known worldwide for its rich cultural heritage. Since 2022, the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science at TU Dresden has maintained a double Master's program with the Università degli Studi di Verona, which offers students of the faculty a wide range of opportunities for international mobility.

- Students at the Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Science have the opportunity to participate in the Double Master's program in Art History. As part of the bilateral Master's program, they attend courses at both universities and obtain a German and an Italian degree.
- Students at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences have the opportunity to study at the Università degli Studi di Verona for one or two semesters as part of the Erasmus program.

Since 2021, the School of Humanities and Social Sciences has maintained a partnership with Kyoto University of Foreign Studies (KUFS), an international university with around 4,500 students from all over the world located in one of Japan's most historically and culturally significant cities. Every summer semester, the department offers three study places for interested students at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences who would like to study at KUFS for a semester. Students
- Students at the School of Humanities and Social Sciences have the opportunity to study in Kyoto for one semester as part of the partnership between the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and the KUFS. The ERASMUS international mobility program offers TU Dresden students a wide range of opportunities to integrate a stay abroad into their studies. Students can choose from a variety of different destination countries within and outside Europe and customize their stay abroad according to their personal interests and their field of study.
In addition, TU Dresden employees can also participate in the ERASMUS program for staff mobility.
