Strategy
The humanities and social sciences at TUD Dresden University of Technology occupy an important position not only in terms of student numbers, the wide range of humanities subjects on offer at a technical university and the diversity of research. In view of the challenges facing society, they make a decisive contribution to providing orientation for the present and the future by asking questions and casting doubt on supposed certainties. In order to do justice to this central role, it is essential that they open up not only professionally, but also beyond the national borders and remain attractive to their own early-career researchers. The specific nature of the humanities and social sciences, their sometimes highly individualized way of working and their subject-specific mode of multilingualism form the basis for the strategy of internationalizing the School of Humanities and Social Sciences pursued here.

TU Dresden - Connected to the world
The internationalization strategy and, in particular, the associated implementation plan serve to provide orientation in the internationalization process by setting sustainable and common goals and by recording, accompanying, coordinating, prioritizing and networking numerous activities. This process is described in the internationalization strategy "TU Dresden - Connected to the World" in four fields of action:
- Field of action 1: Internationalization of study and teaching operations
- Field of action 2: Internationalization of research
- Field of action 3: Framework conditions for internationalized teaching and research
- Field of action 4: Improving the international positioning of TU Dresden
The underlying goals are, for example, increasing visibility, generating synergies, convergence of activities towards the internationalization goals of the department and improving research and teaching efficiency.
A decentralized strategy paper has been developed in the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, which is classified under the umbrella described above "TU Dresden - Connected to the World" and prioritizes and sets priorities relevant to our area. Detailed information can be found in the internationalization strategy of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences (internal).
