Berlin excursion "ancient cultural techniques"

At the end of July, Prof. Heilmann visited Berlin with a group of students as part of the seminar "Cultural Techniques in the New Testament". The program included the Berlin-Brandenburg Academy of Sciences and Humanities, where the head of the working group, Dr. Anette von Stockhausen, gave an introduction to the Academy's project "Alexandrian and Antiochian Biblical Exegesis in Late Antiquity", as well as the Old and New Museum. Outstanding short impulses by the students deepened the topic of "Reading and Writing in Antiquity" on the basis of selected objects in the museums. A particular highlight was the papyrus collection in the Neues Museum, whose exhibits are documented in detail in the Berlin Papyrus Database.
