Research at the Institute of Protestant Theology
The Institute for Protestant Theology defines theology in its research programs as a historical cultural science. On the one hand, this means that all research is geared towards reconstructing objects and contexts of the religious tradition of Christianity in their respective historical and socio-cultural context.
On the other hand, these holdings are investigated in terms of their significance for contemporary society as a whole, i.e. not just for a denominationally bound church.
