Study Medieval History
In this section you can find out everything you need to know about the courses, tutorials and the colloquium. In addition, we provide you with some selected links for literature and source research.
Important notes
Information on the courses offered by the Chair of Medieval History can be found here.
Standardized cover sheet for written examinations
In order to speed up the allocation of the submitted examinations to the respective courses and the recording of grades, a standardized cover sheet is provided for all written examinations, in which the required information must be added. The cover sheet can be downloaded here.
Links for literature research
There are a number of search engines for targeted searches for relevant literature and sources.
In addition to the OPAC of the Saxon State and University Library, it is worth using the OPAC of the Regesta Imperii. It not only lists monographs and anthologies (and of course the subject-specific source editions), but also lists numerous articles. In addition, there is often a direct link to the corresponding reviews.
The same applies to the OPAC of the Monumenta Germaniae Historica. If a title is not available in Dresden, we recommend the Karlsruhe Virtual Catalog (KVK) for interlibrary loan in a targeted manner, as this lists the academic library in which the book you are looking for is located. We would also like to draw your attention to the two online portals "H/Soz/Kult" and the blog "Mittelalter. Interdisziplinäre Forschung und Rezeptionsgeschichte".
We wish you much joy and success in your studies of medieval history in Dresden!
