Registration for Supervision of the Academic State Examination Thesis
Students who wish to write their academic state examination thesis in the field of art—whether in art education, art and media theory, or art history—are asked to submit a request for supervision by the deadline using the designated form.
Important Deadlines for Supervision Requests:
- Summer semester: by January 15
- Winter semester: by July 15.
You must use the designated application form.
The following guidelines apply to the academic state examination thesis:
NOTE:
In early October or early April , exam candidates must register with LaSuB not only for their academic state examination thesis but also for the oral exams. Depending on the subject in which they are writing their state examination thesis, they will be examined either in the subject of Art (Art Theory and Art History) or in the subject of Art Education. Students may specify their preferred examiners. There is no need for a preliminary consultation with the respective examiner.
Based on the registrations and the current staffing situation, the department team decides on the assignment of examiners. Every effort is made to accommodate students’ preferences, but these cannot be guaranteed.
Only after thisprocess is complete will the LaSuB announce the final examiners and the exam date. Students will also meet with their examiners to discuss their topics only at that time. This is possible no earlier than 12 weeks before the respective exam.
Examiners conduct group consultations. Please check the website or contact your examiners for the relevant dates.
