Living in Dresden
The city of Dresden is considered a city of art and culture, but also an important technology location. A network of research, business and culture has established itself in the city. There are a total of nine universities in the city. With about 33,500 students, the TU Dresden is one of the largest universities in Germany and belongs to one of the 11 German universities of excellence. Based on the wide range of teaching and research, the TU Dresden offers ideal conditions for the interdisciplinary cooperation of law and technology. Due to the proximity to the special senate for industrial property and copyright law at the Dresden Higher Regional Court, with whose judges we cooperate in the context of a moot court, we have the opportunity to put theory into practice.
With regard to the cost of living, Dresden is in the European midfield; single students can expect to pay about 750 euros per month. Among other things, the discounted public transportation and the inexpensive food offered in the refectories contribute to the financial relief.
Housing in Dresden
Students have a wide range of housing options in Dresden.
Those who would like to live with fellow students and also appreciate short distances and calculable costs, will find an opportunity to do so in the dormitories of the Studentenwerk. The dormitories offer a wide range of options, from single apartments to shared apartments.
The free housing market also offers different typs of apartments and rooms. Particularly for master's students, interim rent, in which individual rooms or entire apartments are offered for a limited period of time, can be reasonable. We are happy to provide students in the LL.M. program with a letter of recommendation for the dormitories.
