APPLICATION DEADLINE:
pre-applications may be submitted at any time, at the latest:
15th May: starting your studies the following September/October (fall/winter semester)
(Non-EU-Students: 15 March)
15th January: starting your studies the following April (spring/summer semester)
(Non-EU-Students: 15 November)
Application deadline for studies at the Keio University (Tokyo) is always 15th January no matter if you want to start your studies in April or September.
Please note: Applicants from non-EU countries should apply for a visa for the study visit as early as possible! We therefore recommend that you request an appointment at the embassy at the time of application.
Just a few steps to a visa
The Consular Services Portal offers you the opportunity to apply for a visa for your entry and stay in Germany easily and securely online.
1. Complete the application online
Go to the Consular Services Portal and complete the application form online, upload all the required supporting documents and submit these documents for preliminary review.
2. Wait for the preliminary review
During the preliminary review, your information and documents will be checked to ensure that everything is complete. If any information or documents are missing, this will be clarified with you directly via the Consular Services Portal. In this way, everything will be perfectly prepared for your in-person appointment at your German mission.
3. In-person appointment
The purpose of the in-person appointment is to establish your identity and to submit your biometric data (fingerprints and photo). You also pay the fee on site.
To apply for your visa locally, please contact the German mission responsible for you. Responsibility depends on the district in which you are resident. All relevant information on the procedure can be found on the website of your German mission.
