Internship
Compulsory internship during your studies
During the lecture-free period of the first semester, i.e. in the months of February and March or August and September, our students complete an internship of at least four weeks about which a report is to be written at the end. The internship can be done at public authorities or courts, in companies or law firms in Germany or abroad. Our students regularly receive information about this at the beginning of their studies. Of course, it is also possible to complete the mandatory internship for longer than 4 weeks, for example in an internship semester. Here, you may want to consider one of the following options, as these often require a longer internship period:
Our students have the possibility to participate in the STEP program of ELSA Germany. The STEP Traineeships is about already advertised positions which are published once a semester. The internships are mostly paid, the duration depends on the advertised position.

Erasmus+ supports internships abroad (work placements, practical semesters, etc.) for students currently enrolled at universities in program countries at bachelor and master level and for doctoral students. These opportunities are also open to university graduates. In this case, you must apply while you are still enrolled. You can complete your internship in the period of one year following the date of your degree. Students who have already received an Erasmus+ grant can also apply for the Erasmus+ traineeship. You can benefit several times from an exchange abroad with Erasmus+, either as a student or as a trainee, but your total time abroad (including periods of study abroad) must not exceed 12 months within a study cycle. |

Santander scholarships fro internships in Saxony
With the TUD - Santander Scholarships for Internships program, the TU Dresden and Santander would like to make a contribution to increasing the attractiveness of graduates in the humanities and social sciences to companies in Saxony. Sponsored internships in Saxon companies are intended to provide students with low-threshold access to the economy. ELSA Delegations
The Delegations Programme offers you the opportunity to get an insight of WIPO or other international organisations. These are not internships and also cannot be evaluated as such in the LLM IP Programme, but are a great opportunity to get to know the institutions from the other side. More about the Delegations Programme can be found here!
